Why You’ll Love This Single Serve Peach Crisp
A crisp is a fruit-based, baked dessert with a crumbly topping, typically made from a combo of flour, oats, butter or milk, and spices. In this single-serve recipe, I’m using nutritious oat flour, a touch of brown sugar, crunchy walnuts, and just a bit of milk 🥛to help bind the topping. All-purpose flour will also work just fine or you can make your own oat flour by pulsing dried oats in a food processor until a fine dust forms.
When is Peach Season?
Peach season lasts from approximately July to September, so make this recipe soon, while peaches are bursting with natural juiciness and need hardly any added sweetener. If you don’t love peaches or can’t find them locally, nearly any fresh fruit will work here: berries; pitted stone fruits, such as nectarines, apricots, or cherries🍒 apples, and more.
How to Prepare
Everything gets baked in a single-serve-sized baking dish (such as a ramekin) until the fruit is bubbling and the topping is golden brown. I’m partial to serving this with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This would also make a decadent breakfast, served with vanilla yogurt.
Variations and Substitutions for Single Serve Peach Crisp
My single-serve fruit crisp is a light summer dessert that’s easy to make with just one fresh fruit. The recipe uses oat flour, brown sugar, and walnuts in the topping, which can all be swapped out for other options, based on dietary needs or preferences. Also, you can use various fruits like peaches, berries, nectarines, or apples.
